Natural Born Wines, a new way to meet selected wines with a strong personality

From Sunday 14th to Tuesday 16th April 2020 opens the first edition of this little precious event: 70 natural winegrowers present their wines in a marvellous villa a few steps from Verona

With Vinitaly change of dates the first edition of “Natural Born Wines – Fair of natural winegrowers” will also slip to from Sunday 14th to Tuesday 16th June 2020. A new event dedicated to natural wines housed in the eighteenth-century context of the majestic Villa Boschi in Isola della Scala, just a few km from Verona in the countryside, among rice fields, ditches and ancient rural courtyards.

The event is organized by Sorgentedelvino, the historical raw wine fair that since 2009 has been exploring the Italian wine territories looking for real wine jewels. Showing a constant attention and a special keenness in recognizing talent where it is.

In these 3 days professionals and wine-lovers can meet 70 Italian and international winegrowers who chose to make wine respecting nature. All participants recognize in fact a common Chart of Principles that points out a few very clear rules to follow: organic or biodynamic agriculture, indigenous yeasts, low intervention, low sulphites.

An unmissable event for those who want to know small and medium-sized farms and enjoy wines with a strong personality, wines born in the vineyard that have the winegrower, terroir, the vine and the accidents of every single vintage as their natural parents.

In the wine field biodiversity is a great value – says the organizer Barbara Pulliero – not only for the vitality of the environment in which the vineyards are located, but also for the harmony and complexity of the wines that arise from the collection of these grapes. ” And in this salon biodiversity is really a lot! In fact, the winemakers bring numerous wines from indigenous vines for tasting, often saved from extinction thanks to the passion of a few people who believed in them, wines from old vineyards that retain an impressive complexity of biotypes, but these wines also bring with them a great diversity of territories: from wines born in the mountains to those that carry the scents of the Mediterranean scrub, wines that retain traces of the type of soil on which they were born and of the environment in which the grapes were grown. Yes, because when the goal of winemaking is the expression of the territory and the singularity of the vintage, it is only necessary to protect and accompany the grapes in their transformation into wine.

The program, currently being defined, also provides the opportunity, between one tasting and another, to appreciate the dishes offered by the Pavesi Brothers who manage the Ostreria at the La Faggiola court in the Piacenza countryside: a contemporary trattoria where the care for the choice of ingredients and the recovery of traditions is always at the center of the gastronomic proposals.

Three days of knowledge and tastings to meet those courageous and passionate small producers who focus on biodiversity, limiting treatments and cellar practices. All in a relaxed, convivial and elegant environment, in the spaces of the villa and in the splendid outdoor garden.
